Rivet Nuts
Ribbed KlikŪ rivet nuts sometimes referred to as blind inserts are used to place strong permanent threads in thin materials. They are called blind because they can be inserted from one side of a panel. Rivet nuts provide an inexpensive way to prepare material with threads and allow them to accept a bolt or a screw. The finished product leaves a neat and clean appearance. Commonly used in fiberglass, metal, and plastic. A pneumatic rivet nut / thread sert (setter) tool is used for crimping the nut in place to complete the installation. NutsandBolts.com also sells threaded inserts.
